Dean’s Message

Dear students,

I congratulate each of you for being a student of our Faculty and Akdeniz University, which is rapidly advancing with the vision of becoming one of the distinguished universities at the international level. Our faculty is among the popular and constantly developing fields of the new millennium; It includes undergraduate and graduate programs such as International Trade and Logistics, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Finance and Banking, Insurance and Aviation Management. We offer a quality education with our highly trained, up-to-date, highly experienced, and competent academic staff in these fields, which have the potential to directly add value to the needs of today's information and communication age. The main purpose of our faculty is to continuously increase the quality of education by using the benefits of technology and globalization, and to raise individuals who can offer innovative solutions to the needs of the business world before they reach the graduation stage by transforming the obtained knowledge into practice in the application areas.

One of the other goals of our faculty is to focus on professional development and especially applications that will bring our students together with the sector before their graduation, and thus to enable them to acquire a more respected and valid profession in their business life. To achieve this goal, we ensure that our students take the "Education at Work" (internship program) course in the 8th semester of the education process by actually being present in institutions and businesses. Our faculty has signed cooperation protocols with many institutions/organizations, especially the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), to determine the institutions where our students will receive training in the workplace in line with the sectoral requirements of each program. Our faculty also offers an "Optional Summer Internship" to our 3^rd-grade students. Thanks to this applied training, our students gain experience by participating in the business environment before they graduate. Many of our students, who have successfully completed the Workplace Training course, have started to climb the career ladder before they graduate with the job offers, they have received and have made us proud. In addition, some of our departments have been ranked first in Turkey consecutively according to the YKS exam (exam for university entrance) data among the national undergraduate programs with the same name and still continue to be.

In our faculty, our students are offered the opportunity to do double major and minor programs among similar programs inside and outside the faculty, so our students have the opportunity to increase their competencies by taking education from multiple disciplines. Since students who successfully complete these programs have knowledge of multiple disciplines, their recruitment becomes easier to meet the needs of the sector and their level of preference increases.

In order to broaden the horizons of our students and develop their individual visions during their undergraduate education, our faculty cooperates with well-known universities in foreign countries as well as organizations operating on an international scale; It makes cooperation agreements on learning mobility and internship issues. Thanks to the Erasmus program, our students have the opportunity to study or do internships in reputable institutions in many European countries such as Germany, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. In the Mevlana Program, our students can receive education at universities in countries located in various geographies of the world such as Russia, Thailand and Kazakhstan.

I invite students who are candidates to our faculty to benefit from the rich learning opportunities offered by Akdeniz University Faculty of Applied Sciences, which continues its activities with the vision of providing world-class higher education, raising graduates who will improve the quality of life in every field, and being a respected leading faculty from all segments of society.
