About the Program

Our department, which includes Information Management, Decision Sciences, and Information Technologies Departments; received its first students at the undergraduate level in the 2016-2017 academic year. It continues education with a total of 695 students in the primary (daytime) and secondary (evening) education programs as of the 2020-2021 academic year. Our Master's Program with Thesis received students for the first time in the 2018-2019 Academic Year, and educational activities at graduate level continue with a total of 26 students.

Management Information Systems (MIS) is an interdisciplinary understanding that examines business, computer science and information systems and technologies together. The purpose of our department is to train a manpower who is aware of the contributions of all developments and innovations in the field of informatics to businesses, who can produce solutions and who are decision-makers at every stage of the business. Based on this awareness, our department aims to train graduates who are experts in the fields of information technologies, business and management, and who will work in both the public and private sectors.

Our students, who are interested in both computer science and business, receive training in production, marketing, law, accounting, finance and management as well as information technologies presented in the curriculum. With courses supported by laboratories and projects, and on-the-job training to be held in the fourth grade, our students' ability to practice along with theory is developed.

 

Our graduates, who receive information technologies and management sciences education together within the scope of our undergraduate program, constitute the workforce that is sought and preferred in many business fields and can take part in various positions in the modern business world. Especially in data processing centres, system development departments, software and consultancy companies, they will be able to work as system analyst and designer, programmer, project manager, IT specialist, sales and marketing officer, human resources specialist.
